Hannah Moulds
Working predominately with sculpture and installation, my practice explores interior architectural space and narrative. I work with fabric, and recycled objects, manipulating them in and around a negative space. I try and guide the viewer with a narrative; influencing their experience through short fictional texts that personify the sculptures. The idea of other beings is fascinating to me; the thing that you see in the corner of your eye or the shadowy masses in the dark after the lights have been switched off. I am intrigued by biomorphic strangeness, of the existence of the different and the unfamiliar. The plush sculptures I make do not sit on plinths, but interact with their environment, often absorbing furniture or sprawling from unexpected spaces.
